1. What do you have to do when you arrive at the Faculty?
There is a general Coordinator for all foreign students: Jorge Vila, office 251, rifcee@uvigo.es, Phone (+34) 986 813536.

2. Which courses can you choose?
You can choose among all the courses offered at all degrees in our Faculty. You just have to contact your coordinator in your home university for advice. In the web site http://fccee.uvigo.es in Relaciones Internacionales (Incoming Students - Courses) you have a description of all subjects (watch out that they can be taught in the first term, in the second one or on an annual basis). You will also find all relevant information about timetables, classrooms and exam dates. You must bear in mind that information when you choose your subjects.

It is possible too, to follow any course at any Faculty in the University of Vigo: Economic Law, Languages, Engineering, etc. You only need to contact your home coordinator and organize your schedule. Registration for courses in other Faculties is done in our School too.

The International Office (ORI) will offer you both Spanish and Galician language and culture courses.

3. How to register your courses?
As soon as you have chosen your courses you must register them. Note that there is a deadline for that: 15th of December (first term) and 30th of April (second term.)

You can register your courses (even those from other schools) at the Students Administrative Office (Negociado de Alumnos).

Any change in your list of courses after being registered must be authorized by the Coordinator.

4. How many times can I sit an exam?
At the School we have exams in February and in June but also a resit in September. If you do not pass an exam in February or June you are allowed to resit either in the official date or before you leave Vigo (in agreement with the teacher).

5. Have exchange students a special academic consideration?
We have already informed your home universities that our School applies a policy of equal academic exigencies for all students. Therefore, you must do exactly what our students do regarding exams, essays, attendance, tutorials, etc. Therefore, take into account from the very beginning that your exchange student condition will not give you a preferential academic consideration. Of course, lecturers will not take into account the linguistic/orthographical problems you may have in exams or essays.

6. Which languages are used in lecturing?
Most subjects are taught in Spanish, but in Galicia we have two official languages, Spanish and Galician, so you may find some subjects lectured in Galician. In this case, you should not have too many problems, as it is a language that comes from Latin and it is very similar to Spanish and Portuguese. For that you can ask your teacher for some materials in Spanish to follow the courses. However, if you find it difficult you can also choose an alternative subject given in Spanish (first asking your home coordinator).

7. How are transcripts of records submitted?
At the end of your stay at the faculty, the ORI will send by post your Transcripts of records to the address provided by you. You must not ask lecturers for individual transcripts of each subject or to fill in forms of your home universities.

8. Which services are you entitled to?
In general, you can use all services entitled to our students: library, computer room with Internet, sport services, Wireless, etc.
